Eleanor Tetlock Lash, 97, of Inverness, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Lash was born in Taylor, PA, to Charles Tetlock and Josephine Maciejewicz Tetlock on February 4, 1923. After graduating high school, she worked a few years to help support her family after her father’s untimely death when she was a teen. While he was deployed in Europe she spent the remaining war years working for the War Department in New York City.

During their decades together, Frank and Eleanor Lash had seven daughters, ran a restaurant together in Pennsylvania and later, an insurance company after they relocated to South Florida. After retirement, they moved to Inverness, where Eleanor was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

She was a great cook and a voracious reader. She loved to travel and shop. She especially loved visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whether they lived nearby or around the country.

Mrs. Lash was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and youngest daughter, Marianne Lash Freese, and also her sisters Irene Guyette, Evelyn Llewellyn and Delores Martinez.

She is survived by six daughters, Stephanie Hopper (Larry), Suzanne Lash, Francine Kurtz (John), Paulette Ritchie (Tom), Christine Kelly (William) and Sister Bernadette Therese; 13 grandchildren, Matthew Payne, Michael Payne, Kristin Baber, Peter Klinkenberg (Heather), Kate Gupta (Retesh), Jonathan Kurtz (Kristin), Gillian Kurtz, Jamie McBee (Sterling), Laura Lee Ritchie, Luke Ritchie, Meghan Martinez (Tony), David Kelly (Erica) and  Anna Kelly; eight great-grandchildren, Jake, Mary Jane, Benjamin, Lily, Grace, Rose, Faxton and Honey.
