William French

William A. French, 87, of Hernando, FL died at Citrus Memorial Hospital on November 23, 2016.  William was born on October 2, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA, son of William and Rachel French.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. William worked as an aerospace engineer for Lockheed in Marietta, GA.  In 1998 he moved from Marietta, GA to the Arbor Lakes Community in Hernando.  William enjoyed boating, especially sailing.  He was a volunteer bailiff at the Citrus County Courthouse which he enjoyed very much.  William was very friendly and was fond of saying, “It’s good to be known.”

Mr. French is survived by his daughters, Carol Novik and husband Alexei of Acworth, GA, Jeanne French of Marietta, GA, and Elspeth French of Chamblee, GA, and his sister, Virginia Balfour of Thomasville, GA.

A Memorial Service for Mr. French will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 until the hour of services.
