William Baumgartner, Sr.

William A. Baumgartner Sr. , 76, of Citrus Springs, FL, died on April 15, 2014 at Diamond Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lecanto, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.  William was born on January 23, 1938 in New York, NY, son of Anton and Elizabeth Baumgartner.  He was a Conservation Officer for the State of New York.  William moved to Citrus County in 1996 from Hampton Bays, NY.

He served in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Baumgartner; son, William A. Baumgartner Jr. and wife Amy of Jefferson, SC; daughters,  Marie Nicholson and husband Donald of Hampton Bays, NY, and Regina Sawyers and husband Gary of  Princeton  Junction, NJ; sister, Christine Quinlan of Patchogue, NY; grandchildren, Grace and Gary Sawyers; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Heinz Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Mr. Baumgartner will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills with military honors.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
