WANDA MCCALL

McCall, Wanda Marie, 79, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2026. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late William and Marie (NEE Upton) Tuggey on December 1, 1946. She has been a resident of Citrus County for much of her life. Wanda taught at Eden Christian School for a few years before becoming a classroom and PE teacher at Brooksville Elementary. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Floral City and served on the board for the Hills of Rest Cemetery.

Wanda is survived by her daughter Stacey (Thomas) Monroe; her grandchildren: Brennan Dupont, Nathanael Monroe, and Colton Monroe; and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene McCall in 2009, her son Wade McCall in 2022, and her brother William “Billy” Tuggey in 2001.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10am-12pm at Heinz Funeral Home, 2507 Hwy 44 W, Inverness, FL 34453. A service will follow at 12 at the funeral home and burial at 1:30 pm at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, FL. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear bright colors in her honor.
