Veleria “Jean” Sims, 71, of Inverness, FL died on Monday April 17th, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast House in Lecanto, FL. Veleria Jean was born on August 3rd, 1945 in Cross City, FL, daughter of Johnnie and Zadie Holden. She moved to Inverness in 1972 from Orlando, FL. Veleria Jean was a member of Calvary Chapel Church in Inverness.
Veleria Jean was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She loved spending time with family and she loved the lord. Her hobbies included crafting, playing games and the love of fishing.
Veleria Jean is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, Billy Sims of Inverness, FL; sister, Patricia (Steve) Liles of Chiefland, FL; daughters, Kelli (Tim) Ellis of Inverness, FL, Karen Allen of Cheifland, FL; step-children, Johnny Sims, Debbie (Ken) Mullen, and Kevin (Aleida) Sims, all of Orlando, FL; fifteen grandchildren, Madison, Dalton, Kaiden, Brent, Shelby, Megan, Michael, Carol, Jessica, John Michael, Courtnie, Evan, Brandon, Josh, and Caleb; and 8 great grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Kyndal, Zyler, Kolby, Luke, Lucas, and Jade
Veleria Jean was preceded in death by Her parents Johnnie and Zadie Holden, Brothers Bobby Holden and JM Holden, sister Winsome Chewning and sons Joey VanHook and Larry Sykes
Veleria Jean’s celebration of life service will be on Friday April 21st at Calvary Chapel Church in Inverness. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:00 PM. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation.
