Thomas Hoey

Thomas J. Hoey, age 85, died at Citrus Memorial Health Center on April 8, 2014. Thomas was a resident of Inverness, FL with his with Kathleen. They had been married for 59 years and were just three weeks away from their 60th wedding anniversary.

Thomas was a loyal and generous husband, father, and friend and was always willing to provide a helping hand to those in need. Thomas was born in Chicago, raised in Ireland, served in the U.S. Army, married Kathleen, started a family of three boys, and founded a successful real estate business. Thomas and Kathleen have been residents of Inverness for 16 years. Thomas had been a member of the Elks Club and Irish Club.  He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Thomas is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Betty and son, Brendan. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathleen; sons, Thomas Hoey and his wife Beverly of Naperville, IL and Robert Hoey and his wife Patty of Inverness, FL; daughter-in-law, April of CA; sister, Pat of CA; grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsey, Sean, Toni, Shannon, and Connor; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Hoey will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Heinz Funeral Home with a vigil service at 5:00 p.m.  Private interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
