Sharon Brogdon
June 8, 1956 — August 29, 2026
Sharon Brogdon, 70, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026.
She was born in Queens, New York, on June 8, 1956, to the late Cephus and Alice Austin. Sharon dedicated many years of her life to helping others as an Administrative Assistant at Coney Island Hospital until her well-earned retirement.
Seeking sunshine and community, Sharon later moved to Florida, where she became a dedicated member of the Counted All Joy Church. There, she found a warm, welcoming spiritual family that brought her immense happiness. Sharon loved the simple pleasures of life, including a good movie and a refreshing walk. Most of all, she loved staying completely in the loop on everyone's business. To those who knew and loved her, her FOMO (fear of missing out) was legendary. If you didn't call her back fast enough, she’d always find a way to discover what you were up to anyway—a testament to her deeply caring, protective, and fiercely involved nature.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Austin; her grandson, Austin Abraham; as well as Vera Abraham and Michelle Ottley-Adams.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and watchful care lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her daughter, Ciara Ross; her son, DeSean Abraham Sr.; her cherished grandchildren, Jasiah Ross, Cherish Abraham, and DeSean Abraham; and Amber Ottley-Adams. She will be deeply missed by her family, her church community, and the countless lives she touched.
