Robert Brooks Smith IV

Robert Brooks Smith IV, age 70, passed away on May 23, 2025, at his home in Inverness, FL. He was born in Kissimmee, FL, and after retirement returned to the state that was home.

A talented chef that specialized in traditional southern cuisine, Robert was especially known for his mastery of barbecue. He always shared his talent with those willing to learn. Robert's cooking was an expression of love and heritage. His greatest pleasure was a day on his boat with a fishing pole in his hand.

Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary. He is remembered with love by his children, Robert (Mary Beth), Christina, and Sandra Locke; his sister, Vicki L. Succi (Jeffrey); three grandchildren, Emily, Wayne, and his namesake Brooks. His legacy continues through them and the many lives he touched with his humor and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B and Nora (Starling) Smith.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire moments of togetherness around every table.
