Richard Douglas Gifford

Gifford, Richard Douglas, 72, of Inverness, Florida passed on October 31, 2022. He was born to the late George and Bertha (Nee Gibbs) Gifford in Ft. Worth, Texas on January 28, 1950. Richard served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant before completing his service. Upon his release, he worked as a fireman/paramedic and retired as a Lieutenant from the Tampa Fire Rescue. He and his wife of 26 years, Kelly, have been residents of Inverness for ten years.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his sons: Scott & Chris Gifford; his daughter Caitlin Luke; and 4 grandchildren.

A graveside service with honors recognizing his service in the US Air Force and the Tampa Fire Rescue will be held on December 1, 2022 at 11 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to HPH Hospice.
