Ralph William Christopher “Chris” Delph, 55, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.
Born on June 27, 1970, Chris was a man of few words, but those who knew him best understood the depth of his love. He possessed a quick wit, a mischievous sense of humor, and a fiercely protective heart. He may not have always spoken his feelings aloud, but he loved his family with every fiber of his being.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, George and Janie Delph.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosanna Delph, whose unwavering love and care carried him through some of life’s most difficult battles. Through countless surgeries, hospital stays, and health struggles over the past several years, Rosanna remained faithfully by his side every step of the way. Their love was steadfast, and she was with him when he took his final breath and walked in to the arms of Jesus.
Chris is also survived by his children: Tishia Bentley and husband Justin Bentley, along with their children Lily, Parker, and Holden; Christopher Delph and wife Maranda Delph, along with their children Gunner, Brycen, and Nolan; and his youngest son, Matthew Delph. He is also survived by his brother, James Delph and wife Laura.
Chris loved children and had a special appreciation for the spirited ones. Being a Poppy was the greatest joy of his life, it made the struggles of fatherhood even more worth it. He always said he wished he had his grandkids first. The more mischievous a child was, the more he seemed to enjoy them. He found joy in laughter, practical jokes, and the little moments that made life interesting.
An outdoorsman through and through, Chris loved hunting, fishing, and simply being outside. Whether he was casting a line, sitting in a deer blind, or quietly enjoying the beauty of nature, he felt most at home under an open sky.
Throughout his life, Chris worked hard to provide for his family. He spent years building log homes before working in a zinc mine. Following a devastating car accident nearly two decades ago that threatened to take his life, Chris demonstrated remarkable strength and determination. He fought his way back, relearning how to walk and talk, refusing to give up despite the tremendous challenges before him. His perseverance was a testament to the toughness and grit that defined him.
He grew up in Dryden, Virginia, later spent time living in Tennessee, and eventually settled in Inglis, Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement years.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended and that he is now at peace. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, the lessons he taught through his actions, and the countless memories shared around wooded areas, fishing holes, family gatherings, and quiet moments together.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
