Norma Ruth Stevens, 94, of Lecanto, FL died at Brookdale Citrus in Lecanto, FL on November 23, 2016.  Norma was born on September 23, 1922 in Vincennes, IN, daughter of Anthony and Gertrude (Harmon) Erdody.  She graduated from Cass Tech High School and worked at the J.L. Hudson building in Detroit. On Dec 4, 1942 she married William R. Stevens.  Norma went on to graduate from Wayne State University and began teaching as a middle school art teacher. In 1987, after retirement, she and her husband Bill moved to Beverly Hills, FL where they enjoyed life to the fullest with family, friends and neighbors. Norma loved art, music, reading and volunteering at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. She enjoyed talking on the phone, watching Turner Classic Movies, taking walks and traveling to visit family. Norma was an extraordinary and beautiful person. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, caring grandmother and great grandma, beloved sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She was kind, gentle, honest, humble and wise.

Norma was an extremely creative and talented woman. She was a fantastic seamstress, great cook and incredible homemaker. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, FL. To know her was to truly love her. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) R. Stevens, her parents Anthony and Gertrude Erdody, her brother Kenneth Erdody and her beloved Aunt Mary and Uncle Henry.  She is survived by her daughter Ellen Zehnder (Mike), grandsons; Tom Czenkner (Michelle) and Steven Zehnder (Amanda), great grandchildren; Jacob, Jared, Jonathan and  Catherine Czenkner and Brianne Zehnder, her brother Ron Erdody, and many nieces, nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Stevens will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Pastor Kenneth Blyth presiding.
