Milton Sowers

Milton F. Sowers Jr., 66, passed away on January 21, 2016 at Marcom Randall VA Hospital in Gainesville, FL  surrounded by his loving wife Rose, stepdaughter Renee, and sister-in-law Nancy. Milton’s two nieces Renee and Tina (Sowers) Hogan of Bristow, VA flew in to be with him in his last few days. He was very proud of serving his country as a US Army Veteran of Viet Nam. Milton loved his wife of  26 years, his grandkids, his many pets, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Milton loved spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by a very special brother Samual “Sammy” Keith Sowers and his parents. Milton is survived by his wife Rosena Sowers, one son, Milton III of CA, two step children, Tony and Renee Blevin of Inverness, FL, adopted son, Johnny Williams of Floral City, FL, three grandchildren, Austin, Logan, and Addison, many nieces and nephews, three brothers and five sisters all of VA.

There will be a celebration of life service on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11 AM at Inverness Church of God with Pastor David Lucas officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with Military honors provided by VFW post 4337. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fisher House, PO Box 358296, Gainesville, FL 32635.
