Michael Bolognesi, Sr.

Michael P. Bolognesi, Sr., 87, of Inverness, Florida died on August  22, 2018. He was the son of Angelina and James Bolognesi and was born on January 10, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Peter Bolognesi. He is survived by his wife, of sixty-two years, Eileen Bolognesi, son; Michael P. Bolognesi, Jr. daughter; Mary Beth Bolognesi; both of Long Island, New York,  grandchildren; Jennifer Ficara, Nicole Bolognesi, Anthony Bolognesi, John Everette, Holly Bolognesi ,one great granddaughter; Madison Bear and two sisters; Marianne Hanson of Ocala, Florida and Mary Graziano of Long Island, New York. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was retired from the US Postal Service as the Supervisor of City Delivery.

Michael was an avid golfer and loved the sport. He, moreover, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After he retired he and his wife, Eileen moved to North Carolina and eventually to Florida. He will be remembered as a loving family man and friend to all who knew him.

Michael’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 29th from 3:00-5:00 pm with a Prayer Service beginning at 3:30 p.m.  at the Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m. on August 30, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL, with Fr. Tim Cummings Celebrating the Mass, with Graveside Services following at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida
