Max Hetherington

Max E. Hetherington, 90, of Inverness, died on July 10, 2019. Max was born March 6, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, son of Elmer and Mary Hetherington. He is a US Navy Veteran who served during World War II. He was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Inverness.

Max was a Life member of the VFW Post 4337, Inverness, FL.

Mr. Hetherington was preceded in death by his parents, and six siblings. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carol Hetherington of Inverness; four children: Carol Christine Swink and her husband Ronald of Grand Blanc, MI, Thomas Hetherington of St. Petersburg, FL, Patrick Hetherington and his wife Grace of Maiden, NC, and Nancy Hetherington and Tim Doyle of Floral City, FL; brother, Charles Hetherington of MI; six grandchildren, Jason Swink, Kristi Swink, Shawna Skank, Misty Allen, Patrica Peterson and Nikki Hurley; 13 great grandchildren, Laila, Graycen, Ana, Jolenna, Ella, Jonathan, Lillian, Kensington, Blake, Emmette, Caroline, Tsiele and Max.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Heinz Funeral Home, Inverness, FL. A VFW Service will begin at 3:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of the service.
