Marie Wheeler

Marie Wheeler, 85, of Inverness, FL, passed away on July 31, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Nodar.

Marie served in the US Marine Corps, where she met her husband, Virgil Wheeler.  They married and had four children, Kurt J. Wheeler, Raymond H. Wheeler, Gary Wheeler, and Kimberly M. Tavares.

She was a clever and resourceful person with a smart and witty personality.  Marie was known for being a strong woman.  Her hobbies included crafting, playing video games, and tennis.  She was passionate about cars.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; and siblings, Valerie Najecki, Patrick Shields, Joan Steinhauer, and Richard Nodar.

Survivors include her children; her son-in-law, Robert Tavares; and her grandchildren, Christopher Wheeler, Laurie Canasi, Maggie DeHart, Jay Wheeler, Rachel Wheeler, Ray Wheeler, Joshua Wheeler, Colton Wheeler, Sinjin Ables, and Damon Ables, as well as eight great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL.
