Margaret Felgenhauer

Margaret Eckert Felgenhauer, 89, of Hernando, FL died on May 30, 2015 at Arbor Trail Nursing Home in Inverness.  Maggie was born in West New York, NJ in 1926 and moved to Connecticut with her five brothers and parents.  She married Howard in 1947 and had two daughters.  She enjoyed working for the public school system, was a master gardener, and a lovely seamstress.  Maggie was also known for her kindness and good humor.

Survivors include her husband, Howard who cared for her without complaint for fifteen years; two daughters, Carol Doria of West Haven, CT and Janice Messer of Chapel Hill, NC; two brothers, Frank Eckert and John Eckert, both of Stratford, CT; four grandchildren, John Messer of Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth Messer of Charleston, SC, Aldo Doria and Deanna Doria, both of West Haven, CT; two great grandchildren, Fernando and Aliya Doria; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Felgenhauer will be at noon on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, FL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John Paul II Catholic School, 4341 W. Homosassa Trail, Lecanto, FL  34461.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
