Margaret Cardinali

Margaret “Peggy” Cardinali, 65, of Lecanto, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 12, 2013, after a two and a half year battle with cancer.  She died at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL.  Peggy was born on February 3, 1948 in Greenwich, CT, the daughter of Hubert and Hazel Oldham Hanson.  She was a teacher at Seven Rivers Christian School in Lecanto, the Citrus County School System, and the Little Acorn Preschool in Crystal River.  She moved to Lecanto in 1983 from Manahawkin, NJ.  She was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, FL and was a volunteer at the Suncoast Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Raymond Cardinali of Lecanto, FL; three children, Christina Cardinali Wert of Oviedo, FL, Jeffrey Cardinali and wife Marie of Altamonte Springs, FL and Victoria Voltzke and husband Christian of Altamonte Springs, FL; two sisters, Carol Dinmore of Lecanto, FL, Susan Schmitz of Seattle, WA; brother, George Hanson of Boston, MA; five grandchildren, Ryan Wert and Jason Wert of Oviedo, FL and Andrew Cardinali, Aaron Cardinali, and Lucas Voltzke all of Altamonte Springs, FL.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Heinz Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Mrs. Cardinali will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto.  Reverend Ray Cortese will preside.  Donations in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Comforter, 605 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, FL  32714 or Seven Rivers Christian School, 4221 W.
