Laurie Marie Paul (née Huffert), 62, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. Born on September 6, 1962, Laurie was born and raised in Jefferson, New Jersey, and later made her home in Inverness, Florida.
Laurie dedicated much of her life to a long and respected career as an administrative assistant. At the time of her passing, she was employed with Taylor, Cotton and Ridley in Lecanto, Florida, where she was appreciated for her hard work, kindness, and dedication.
Laurie was known for her warm heart and love of bringing people together. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with friends, and sharing her passion for cooking with those she loved most. Her generosity, sense of humor, and caring nature touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Doug Paul; her son, Kyle Paul; her father, Lee Huffert; her stepfather Frank Stuhmer; her brother Lee Huffert Jr.; and her sister Pamela Ramagosa
Laurie is survived by her son, David Paul; her mother, Sharon Stuhmer; her sister, Shari Murphy and husband Daniel; her brother, George Huffert; her sister, Jacqueline Tompkins and husband Glenn; her sister, Wendy Daleske and husband John; her stepmother, Dolores Huffert; her sister, Kimanca Martinez and her husband, Martin; her sister, Dawn Wambsgans and her husband, Terry; and her brother, Darren Mclaughlin and his wife, Allison. As well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will cherish her memory forever.
Visitation will be held at Heinz Funeral Home, 2507 Highway 44 W., Inverness, FL 34453, on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to assist with expenses associated with the passing of a loved one.
Laurie’s love, strength, and devotion to her family and friends will never be forgotten.
