Joyce M. Petrilli

Joyce Marie (Arcudi) (Luchini) Petrilli of Inverness, FL, formerly of Milford, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 12. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Petrilli who passed away in 2009. She was the daughter of the late Arthur T. Arcudi and the late Florence (DiCecco) Arcudi and the sister of the late Joseph F. Arcudi. Joyce was the devoted mother of Mary Jo Gulino, the late Ann Marie Luchini, and Sheri Vilardi and her husband Frank, and stepmother of Elaine Scarnici and her husband Paul and Diane Pelletier and her husband Norman. She was a cherished and loving Nana to Thomas Vilardi and his wife Meg, Peyton Vilardi, Jordan Gulino, Dillon Scarnici, and Brady Pelletier. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Arcudi and Eleanor Felber, her brother- in-law Donald Petrilli and his wife Jackie, and her uncle Joseph E. Arcudi. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Joyce loved to read and do puzzles; she loved Elvis and watching Hallmark movies; and she loved lighthouses and had a beautiful collection. She had a well-known sweet tooth, especially for fudge and chocolate, and always had her “hidden” stashes. Joyce was known for her amazing crocheting and sewing, creating beautiful clothes and crafts for family and friends. She was dedicated to volunteering, particularly at her local library, and also taught sewing classes. As a woman of strong Catholic faith, Joyce found peace and strength in attending weekly Mass. She will always be remembered for her big, beautiful smile.

Her funeral Mass will be held on January 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 550 US Highway 41, Inverness, FL, followed by a private burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. A Mass in Massachusetts will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity, Shriners Children’s Hospital, at www.shrinerschildrens.org.
