Joann "Muffy" Morin

August 22, 1968 — March 15, 2022

Joann Marie (Muffy) Cieply Morin

Our Dearest Muffy left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.  All of us who are lucky enough to be her family or her friend will miss her greatly, especially her happy disposition, her beautiful smile, and most of all the love she had for us. She was a good, Christian woman, beautiful on the outside and the inside, and she loved God with all her heart.

Joann (Muffy) Cieply Morin was born on August 22, 1968 to Henry (Hank) Cieply and Joan (Stumbrice) Cieply in Amsterdam, New York. She was the youngest of three children (older brother Joey, middle sister Virginia). She grew up in upstate New York surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins, who she talked about fondly many times, and her great friends, whom she loved dearly. If Muffy was your friend, you are indeed greatly blessed.  She had a big heart, full compassion for those who were hurting and in need and devoted a lot of time and energy to helping others. In the cold weather, she would go to the thrift stores and buy all the warm clothing she could and take them to the homeless shelters to provide comfort to those less fortunate. Muffy was the “Hostess with the mostest “, and with her charm and beauty, made many new friends, using her many talents of communication, organization, time management and loving cheerfulness to throw many wonderful birthday parties, holiday get-togethers, many outings and functions with the other homeschooling parents that she met as she homeschooled her only child Christopher. She often took the lead on the groups to make sure they had well-rounded social activities and field trips to the museums, parks, and plenty of exercise for both minds and bodies. She devoted a lot of time to make sure that her son Christopher’s education was paramount in preparing him for life. A mother and child couldn’t be any closer or more loving to each other than they were.

She loved entertaining, decorating for the holidays (4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter and especially Christmas.  The lights, the tree, ornaments, a nativity scene in honor of the birth of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and many, many presents for all of whom she loved).  Every Veteran’s Day, Muffy was the beautiful blue-eyed blonde woman holding “God Bless You Veterans” signs of the Inverness parades to let every veteran know how much she appreciated their sacrifices. Got her picture in the Chronicle quite a few times in early 2000’s, showing her support, waving at everyone.

In 1997, Hank retired and moved himself, Joan, Virginia, Muffy and Christopher to Beverly Hills, Florida to escape those cold New York winters and enjoy the Florida sunshine. Muffy became a caregiver give her to her parents, along with Ginny, who all had many health issues. Her mother passed away in 2002, and her father and sister Ginny passed away in 2012, and Muffy was right there with them, taking care of their needs, keeping them comfortable at home as much as possible. She always wanted to spend all the time she could with her family and friends and play with her grandchildren.

She loved Citrus County and Florida and always had positive things to say about her time in friends here. Her favorite activities included going to the beach, church, restaurants, theme parks and shopping for gifts to give her family and friends.

We are all deeply saddened and in grief at the much too soon passing of our dearest Muffy. If you knew and loved Muffy, you were truly fortunate. If Muffy knew and loved you, you were so very blessed. We are all going to miss her so much, her kind gentle spirit, her loving nature, her caring and compassion.  We who knew her are all better people because of her. She truly made a wonderful difference in our lives. God bless you Muffy.

She is preceded in death by her father Henry (Hank) Cieply, mother Joan Cieply, and sister Virginia (Ginny) Cieply. She is survived by her husband Jim Fountain, brother Joey Cieply, sister-in-law Cathy (Coons) Cieply, niece Emily Ball, niece Darla Gailbreath (husband Nick), nephew Chuck Cieply (wife Kaitlyn), nephews Brian Cieply (wife Anneke) and Robbie Cieply. Son Christopher Morin, daughter-in-law Rachel (Bradburn) Morin, granddaughter Andromeda Morin, grandson Rory Morin. Mother-in-law Jean Fountain, sister-in-law Carol Fountain, grandniece Abbie Ball, grandnephews Charlie and Henry Cieply, many cousins and a host of great friends who will all miss her dearly.
