Jessica McCarthy Rodriguez

Inverness

Jessica Marie Rodriguez (Alicea / McCarthy), born on November 25, 1977, to Debbie Kaczvinsky (Ortiz) and Eduardo Rivera, and raised by her mother Debbie and Dad James Alicea, passed away on December 3, 2023. Jessica was a devoted mother, wife, sister, cousin, niece, daughter, and friend, leaving an enduring legacy of love and laughter.

Jessica's journey began in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she was born and raised. A proud alumna of Central High School, Jessica was a distinguished member of the Central High School Marching Band, showcasing her musical talents as she played the saxophone. In 2006, she embarked on a new chapter in Florida, closer to her mother and sister Stephanie, where she found fulfillment working in the Head start program, making a positive impact on countless children and families.

Jessica was a mother of three incredible children, Julianna, Erin, and Colin, whom she shared with her late husband and best friend, Dennis McCarthy, to whom she was devoted until his passing in 2018.

In 2022, Jessica found love again and married her soulmate, Roberto Rodriguez, completing her life with the tremendous love he provided to her and her children.  Jessica and Roberto quickly turned their dreams into reality by establishing "Moji's Lawn Care Services." Jessica, with her commitment, motivation, and support, ran the business alongside Roberto, creating a legacy of hard work and dedication to their community.

Known as the family's personal encyclopedia, Jessica was a source of wisdom and knowledge, often serving as the unofficial legal and medical advisor. Her resilience and determination earned her the nickname "The Table" as she was the one who brought everything together. She met every challenge with determination, and her infectious spirit touched the lives of many.  Jessica was a Scrabble queen, a captivating conversationalist, and her contagious laughter could light up any room.

Jessica took immense pride in her children's achievements, celebrating Julianna's college graduation, Erin's early completion of high school, and foreseeing great things for her tech savvy little man, Colin.

Jessica was predeceased by her mother, Debbie Jane Kaczvinsky, (Ortiz) her husband, Dennis McCarthy, and her biological father, Eduardo Rivera. She is survived by her loving husband, Roberto Rodriguez, her two beautiful daughters, Julianna and Erin McCarthy, and her baby boy, Colin McCarthy. Jessica also leaves behind her Dad, James Alicea, and his wife, Joanna, her sister, Stephanie Mazza, her brother in law Tito, her first niece, Brianna Mazza, and great-niece, Everliegh, who affectionately called her "Lola." She is remembered by nephews Giovanni Mazza and Carlos Bermudez, her niece Kaliyah and her grandmother Anne Ortiz, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
