Jeanette K. Nicolajsen , 77, of Homosassa, FL, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2016. Jeanette was born on March 31, 1939 in Savannah, GA, the daughter of John L. and Lillian D. Knox.

Jeanette was a beloved wife, mother and friend to many near and far. She grew up in Savannah, where she graduated from Commercial High School. She studied art at Atlanta College of Art and lived in Decatur, GA for 25 years. After moving to Florida, she returned to her art. She specialized in impressionist and abstract oil paintings which were shown in many local art shows.

Her creativity extended into her garden and her kitchen. She loved nothing more than inviting family, friends and neighbors to enjoy her delicious home cooked meals. She thrived on tending her spectacular perennial garden, which was featured in the City of Decatur Garden Tour.

Jeanette moved to Sugar Mill Woods in 1995 from Atlanta, GA. She was a member of the Sugar Mill Artisans and Nature Coast Community Church in Homosassa, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Bradley R. Nicolajsen in 2012.

Survivors include her daughters Amy Hudson of Atlanta, GA and Jennifer Chancey and her husband Byron of Atlanta, GA; three granddaughters Kate Hudson, Grace Chancey and Lauren Chancey all of Atlanta, GA.

A memorial service for Mrs. Nicolajsen will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 9 at the Nature Coast Community Church in Homosassa, FL with Pastor Brad Bresson officiating. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
