India "Pat" Carrico

India Patricia “Pat” (Steading) Carrico, 84, of Hernando, FL, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was born on January 5, 1942, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Paul Steading and Agnes Woods Robertson, and wife of late Donald Ray Carrico. She was a homemaker and former owner of Castaways Bar and Grill in Crystal River, FL. She was especially proud of her time spent as a long-distance telephone operator for Bell Telephone early in her life. She loved spending time outside gardening, bird watching, squirrel feeding, and working in her yard. She loved animals, especially her dogs.

Survivors include sons Michael K Carrico and his wife Mary of Hernando, FL, and Keith A Carrico and his wife Brooke of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Benjamin T. (Nicole), Brian M., and Rebecka L. (Alan) Carrico, all of Citrus County, and Michael A (Savannah), and Jennifer P Carrico, both of Jacksonville; six great-grandchildren Weston, Chase, Sara, Sienna, Wyatt, and Samuel.

A private service will be held, with interment at Bushnell National Cemetery, in accordance with Pat’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ASPCA in Pat’s name as she loved animals.
