Howard Felgenhauer

Howard S. Felgenhauer, 96, of Hernando, FL died on September 26, 2017 at the Legacy House in Ocala. Howard was born on June 14, 1921 in Bridgeport, CT, son of Frank and Emma Felgenhauer.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.  Howard retired as a mechanical engineer from Milford Machine Products in Milford, CT.  He married Margaret in 1947 and had two daughters.  Howard was a former member of Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club.  He enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially horses.

Mr. Felgenhauer was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 2015.  Survivors include his two daughters, Carol Ann Doria of West Haven, CT and Janice Marie Messer of Fernandina Beach, FL; four grandchildren, John Messer of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Elizabeth Messer of Charleston, SC, Aldo Doria and Deanna Doria both of West Haven, CT; and two great grandchildren, Fernando and Aliya Doria.

A memorial mass for Mr. Felgenhauer will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Hurricane Victims in Puerto Rico.  Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.  heinzfh.com
