Frank L. Hamlin, 93, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away on April 8, 2024. He was born in Wheeling, WV, on October 5, 1930 to the late Sherman Douglas Hamlin and Alice Leah Crocker Hamlin. He was the 7th of 13 children, he often referred to himself as the meat of the family sandwich.

At age 10, he moved from West Virginia to Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Withrow High School in 1948. Frank was awarded an Associate’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

He served four years in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He was an engineer on submarines and was honorably discharged in 1952. On February 13, 1954 he married the love of his life, Clara Louise Weir McCarthy Hamlin. They were married for 63 years until her passing in 2017. They raised six lovely children together in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Libertyville, IL.

Frank is survived by his 6 children Mike Hamlin (Kim Windstar), Greg (Evelyn) Hamlin, Jeff (Marie) Hamlin, Pam (Garrick) Lewis, Lynn (Bill) Hamlin-LeMaster, Steve (Ingrid) Hamlin, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, his only remaining sibling Phyllis (Kenneth) O’Bryan and many nieces and nephews.

Frank began his career with Cincinnati Milacron as a Sales Engineer and successfully advanced to Local, then Regional Sales Manager at LeBlond Machine Tool Company which then became LeBlond-Makino.

Frank was active all his life. From weightlifting in his early years to running marathons in his forties to working out nearly every day into his nineties.  He was an avid golfer, bowler, bridge player and card player.  He was still winning his share of the cribbage games until the very end. Frank and Clara retired to FL in 1995 to live out their dream of a lifestyle of golf and sun. They made many life time friends during that time.

Frank had an innate ability to crack jokes and make people laugh. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

Frank’s family expresses their profound gratitude to Dr. Alexander Lui and his office staff, Brittany and Jennifer, Ann Paovella, Citrus Pines Adult Family Care Home and Chapter Health System/Hospice for their loving and professional care. In addition Frank’s family is grateful for the friendship and care Pat and Bob D’Souza provided to their father.
