Edward L. Clark, 93, of Inverness, FL died Saturday Aug 13, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy, who died in 2010 after 63 years of marriage.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet (Mike) Waddell of Pinellas Park; Nancy (Sam) Cockrell of Portland OR; Julie (Danny) Rouse of Floral City; and son, Larry Clark of Tampa; Grandchildren Eric (Rain) Wilcox, Jeff (Cindy) Waddell, Suzanne Zylman (fiancé Ray), Denielle (Matt) Perry, Greg (Lacia) Waddell, Jesse Rouse, Christine Rouse ( fiancé Soham), Andy Rouse, Justin Clark, Ryan Clark, Brendan Clark & Landon Clark; his sister Anna Ruth Chancey of Inverness; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Ed was born in Fairfield, AL and his family moved to St Petersburg in 1924. A graduate of St Petersburg High School (1941), he served in WWII as a waste gunner, flying missions out of England. His plane was shot down in 1944 & he was a prisoner of war for almost a year.  Ed owned Ross Plumbing & Heating Co, Inc. from 1950 through 1975. A devout Catholic, Ed was an active member of St Jude’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus & the Kiwanis Club in St Petersburg. In 1973, he and Dorothy moved to Floral City and then to Inverness in 1994. Since coming to Citrus County, Ed has been an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. He served as a lector at Mass and was involved in Mariapolis, Right for Life Movement & Helping Hands . He believed strongly in the Divine Chaplet. He was a member of the Inverness Sertoma, serving a year as President and a Founding member of the Inverness Pregnancy Crisis Center. In 2006, he received the Diocesan St Jude Medal for Distinguished and Outstanding Service to his parish. Ed and Dorothy were longtime members of the Inverness Golf and Country Club and the Floralites.

The family will receive friends on Friday August 19 th at Heinz Funeral Home from 5 – 7:30pm with a celebration of the Rosary at 5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday Aug 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Tues, August 30, 2016.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pregnancy & Family Life Center, 3147 Tompkins St., Inverness 34450, in his name.
