David Samuel Blair, 79 of Hernando, passed away on February 6th , 2024, under the loving care of his family. David was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late William and Marjorie Blair. After attending Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania, David married Carole Mary Sabol.

David began his professional career as a laborer on the Pennsylvania Railroad System. David retired at 50 years of age as a Road Master for CSX in Florida. David spent his retirement as an avid fisherman often competing in bass master competitions. He even garnered the title of champion at the Gainesville Bass Masters competition in 2002. He also was a lover of the links living most of his life on a golf course.

After his wife’s passing in 2008, David spent most days with his children and grandchildren. In 2013, he met his current wife, Constance Blair of Gainesville and they were married in 2015. They moved to Citrus County in 2016 to be closer to family.

David was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Carole Blair, formerly of Gainesville, Florida; brother, Edward Blair of Altoona Pennsylvania; grandson, Dylan Blair of Texas. He is survived by his wife, Constance Blair; children, Bill Blair of Texas, Alicen Blair of Georgia, and Edward Blair of Citrus County; daughters in law, Tara Blair and Lindsay Blair; step son, Matt Farcosky and family; grandchildren, David Blair, William Blair, Andrew Blair, Samantha Blair, Gracie Blair, and Quinton Blair.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Histiocytosis Association at www.give.histio.org in memory of David’s grandson, Dylan Blair.
