Palm Harbor

Christopher Alan Heinz, 30, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019.   He was born on March 21, 1989, in Orlando, Florida.  His family moved to Safety Harbor, Florida, in 1991 and Palm Harbor in 2001.  He attended Curlew Creek Elementary, Carwise Middle School, and East Lake High School - Class of 2007, and also attended St. Petersburg College.

Chris was previously employed by Firehouse Subs and Outback Steakhouse. He excelled in most sports and was a star soccer player growing up in north Pinellas County.  He also played football for East Lake High School. Chris was an avid Florida State Seminoles Football fan, enjoyed fishing and camping with his Dad, snorkeling in the Florida Keys, and scalloping off Homosassa Springs.  Chris also enjoyed spending time with his little sister, his Grandpa Ray Behunin (deceased), and hanging out with friends.  Chris was a hard worker and kind to everyone that he met.  He loved animals and recently, along with his sister, rescued some abused dogs.  He also enjoyed caring for his recently adopted cat.

Chris is survived by his mother, Laurie Heinz, father Douglas Heinz, stepmother Pamela Heinz, and sister, Brittany Heinz.  He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Lola Behunin and George Reaves, paternal grandparents Jed and Sue Heinz, step-grandparents Don and Shirley Guthrie, and many other family members, including several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Our joy in this time of sadness is that Chris was a registered organ donor, which will have a positive impact on the lives of numerous people.
