Annie Cathryn Chapman

Annie “Cathryn” Chapman, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025. She was born to Sammy and Lola Higginbotham in Island Grove, Florida, on June 6, 1934.

Cathryn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Chapman, as well as her son, Bobby Chapman; granddaughter, Shawntae Uribe; and siblings Lorraine Rigby, Frank and Walter Higginbotham, Mildred Beckham, and Isoline Chitty.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy Eaton and her husband Steve; her granddaughter Sherra Long and her husband Brandon, along with their children Maddox and Natalia; granddaughters Stephanie and Sherri, and their children Dominique, Caitlin, AJ, Leah, and Elijah. She is also survived by her sisters Dot Croy, Annie Hinck, and Bonnie Jones, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Cathryn was known for her quick wit, infectious humor, and boundless love for her family. Her passion for her family and her love of caring for her yard were two of the many things that brought her joy.

While her physical presence on earth is no longer with us, Cathryn’s journey continues in the eternal arms of the Lord. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Indian Hill Baptist Church in Bushnell. Visitation starts at 11:00 AM, with a service following at Noon.
