Saturday April 25, 2026 Allen Dale Mofield went home to be with the lord.
Born October 2, 1958 in Memphis TN. Allen was the kind of man you couldn’t miss and wouldn’t forget—a true showman in every sense of the word. For him, the midway wasn’t just a place of work, it was home. The lights, the laughter, the hum of generators, and the rhythm of a traveling life suited him perfectly.
He had a gift for seeing potential where others saw scrap. From bare frames and worn metal, he rebuilt food trailers with his own hands, turning them into something alive again—places where people gathered, ate, and made memories. Each one carried a piece of him: his craftsmanship, his stubbornness, and his pride.
When the crowds thinned and the last tickets were torn, his day was far from over. Nights belonged to the circle of friends who knew him best—cards on the table, stories in the air, and the easy laughter that comes from years on the road together. Poker wasn’t just a game; it was tradition, camaraderie, and a way to wind down under the glow of fading midway lights.
He loved the open road just as much as the lot. Riding his Harley, he found a different kind of freedom—wind in his face, miles rolling by, and nothing but the sound of the engine and his thoughts. It was his escape, his peace, and another expression of the independent spirit that defined him.
At one time, he ran a small carnival of his own ( A & D Amusements) with his darling wife Denise, a testament to his drive and his belief in doing things his way. He knew the risks, the long hours, and the weight of responsibility—but he embraced it all, building something that carried his name and his passion.
He lived a life that wasn’t ordinary, and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. He leaves behind friends who became family, stories that will be told for years, and a legacy written in steel, carnival lights, and the open road.
He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten—because men like him don’t fade quietly. They leave their mark everywhere they’ve been.
Though the midway was his home, his heart belonged to his family
He is survived by his Beloved Wife Denise Mofield who stood by his side through every mile of the journey; his daughter Amanda Mofield Lisko (Timothy) who carry on his spirit; and his grandchildren, Blake Popovich, Ava Popovich & Nina Popovich who brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves behind siblings & relatives and a wide circle of friends who felt more like family.
A celebration of life will be held this fall, when the roads have brought loved ones home again and can gather in one place. Together, we will share stories, laughter, and quiet moments of remembrance, honoring a life that touched so many and will continue to live on in all of us. Details will be shared at a later time.
